Where does DiDi work? All DiDi countries in 2026
DiDi works in mainland China and 14 other countries: ten in Latin America, plus Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Egypt. It does not operate in the USA, Canada or Europe.

Launch years come from DiDi's own country pages where available, and otherwise from news reports published at the time (listed in the sources). Services differ a lot between countries: DiDi Moto, DiDi Taxi, food delivery and cash payment are not available everywhere.

- Latin America (10): Mexico, Brazil (99), Colombia, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Panama, Dominican Republic.
- Asia Pacific (3): Australia, New Zealand, Japan.
- Africa (1): Egypt.
- Plus China, where DiDi started and where it also runs services such as bike sharing and freight.
Not on the list: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe, India and Southeast Asia.
Former DiDi markets
DiDi has left some countries it entered during its 2020 to 2021 expansion.

Does DiDi work in the USA?
No. DiDi does not offer rides in the United States. The US is not in DiDi's official country selector, and the international DiDi Rider app will not find drivers there. If you are in the US, use a local ride app. For a side by side comparison with the main alternative, see DiDi vs Uber.
Does DiDi work in Hong Kong or Macau?
Hong Kong: yes. The Chinese DiDi app, listed in stores as DiDi China: Ride Hailing, gives "Chinese mainland, HK" as its service area. A December 2025 report says DiDi covers all 18 districts of Hong Kong, accepts WeChat Pay HK, AlipayHK and international credit cards, and lets one account work in both Hong Kong and mainland China. The same report says DiDi has operated in Hong Kong for over 10 years, earlier under the Kuaidi Taxi name. Hong Kong passed a law in October 2025 to license ride-hailing platforms, and the government said licensed platforms are expected to start operating in the fourth quarter of 2026, once their preparatory work is complete.
Macau: not as a DiDi market. Macau does not appear in DiDi's country list, and the Chinese DiDi app names only the mainland and Hong Kong. Macau restricts ride-hailing to licensed taxis, with a limited number of taxis allowed to take online bookings, according to a September 2025 report. Plan on using local taxis.
Does DiDi work in Japan?
Yes, mainly as a taxi app. As of October 2026 the official service page lists areas in 42 of Japan's 47 prefectures, including Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hokkaido and Okinawa. Details are on DiDi in Japan.
