DiDi in New Zealand at a glance
DiDi's New Zealand site describes a rideshare and delivery service that runs through two apps: DiDi Rider for passengers and DiDi Driver for driver-partners. Three services are listed:
- Express for everyday rides,
- DiDi Travel for longer trips, for up to 4 people,
- DiDi Delivery for affordable, on-demand parcel delivery across a city.
DiDi's NZ rider page highlights low everyday fares, matching with a nearby driver in minutes, pre-screened drivers and secure cashless payment in the app. Compare the options in ride types.
Where DiDi runs
DiDi New Zealand has driver pages for Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. It does not publish a full rider city list for New Zealand, so the quickest check is to open the app where you are.
Getting started as a rider
- Download DiDi Rider from the App Store or Google Play.
- Register and add a payment method in the app.
- Enter your destination, pick Express or Travel and confirm.
- Check the driver's details before you get in; the safety tools are explained in safety.
If you leave something behind, follow lost property.
Driving with DiDi
To drive in New Zealand you need a full NZ licence held for at least two years, a current passenger endorsement and a car with a current Certificate of Fitness. Start with driving with DiDi and the detailed driver requirements.
Help and support
The fastest route for riders is the Help Centre in the DiDi Rider app. Account security problems go to DiDi's official Instagram or Facebook, and safety incidents to the 24/7 Incident Response Team. All routes are on contact support.
