DiDi ride types in New Zealand
DiDi New Zealand lists three options: Express for everyday rides, DiDi Travel for long-distance trips with up to 4 people, and DiDi Delivery for sending parcels across town.
The three options
| Option | What DiDi NZ says it is for | Riders |
|---|---|---|
| Express | Everyday rides | Shown in the app |
| DiDi Travel | Long-distance rides for less | Up to 4 |
| DiDi Delivery | Affordable, on-demand delivery across a city | Parcels only |
The app shows the options available where you are, with a price for each before you confirm. Not every option may be offered in every city.
Express
Express is the everyday choice and the first option DiDi lists on its New Zealand home page. DiDi's rider page promotes low everyday fares, matching with a nearby driver within minutes and cashless payment. Drivers on the platform meet DiDi's NZ requirements, including a passenger endorsement and a Certificate of Fitness for the car (driver requirements).
DiDi Travel
DiDi Travel is aimed at longer journeys, which DiDi describes as long-distance rides for less, carrying up to 4 people. If you are heading out of the city centre or across a region, open the app and compare the Travel price with Express before you book.
DiDi Delivery
DiDi Delivery sends items across your city on demand with a DiDi driver. DiDi's NZ legal page publishes DiDi Delivery Rules and Standard Terms for Delivery Services, which govern the service. Read them before sending anything valuable or fragile.
Choosing
- Short city trip: Express.
- Long trip for up to 4 people: compare DiDi Travel with Express.
- Sending something without travelling yourself: DiDi Delivery.
