Managing your DiDi account in Australia
A DiDi rider account in Australia needs a mobile number, name, email and a card or PayPal. Profile changes, password resets and deletion are all done in the app.
Creating an account
- Download DiDi Rider from the App Store or Google Play (the app).
- Register with your mobile number, name and email address.
- Enter the SMS verification code you receive.
- Add a debit or credit card, or PayPal, so fares can be charged after each ride (payment).
DiDi Australia offers personal accounts only; there is no business account option yet. Visitors who already use DiDi's Greater China app can sign in with that account.
Changing your details
| Change | Steps |
|---|---|
| Sidebar menu, profile picture, Email, CHANGE EMAIL. Verify through the link sent to the new address. | |
| Mobile number | Sidebar menu, profile picture, Phone number. Confirm with the SMS code sent to the new number. |
| Profile photo | Sidebar menu, profile picture, Edit Profile Picture |
| Language | Sidebar menu, Settings, Language |
| Saved places | Navigation menu, Settings, Favourite Places (Home, Work or Other) |
To remove a saved address, swipe left on it and tap DELETE. Each email change has to be verified again before it links to your account.
Password and login problems
- Forgot password: tap Forgot Password on the login page. A 6-digit code goes to your registered mobile; enter it, then choose a new password.
- No SMS arriving: check the number is right and your phone can receive texts. A new number cannot be verified until the code arrives on that number.
Compromised or hacked account
If you can no longer get in, notice suspicious activity, or see trips or charges you did not make, DiDi asks you to contact its support team immediately by private message on its official Instagram or Facebook channels. The handles and other routes are on contact support. Do not share verification codes with anyone who messages you first.
Ratings
After each trip you rate the driver from 1 to 5 stars, either at the end of the ride or later from My Trips. Ratings are final once submitted. Drivers see riders' ratings and trip frequency before accepting, so polite, on-time riding helps you get matched. Riders who behave inappropriately can be suspended under DiDi's community guidelines (safety).
Deleting your account
- Open the sidebar menu and tap your profile picture.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
Before you delete:
- Use or accept the loss of any vouchers, because unredeemed ones are removed permanently (promo codes).
- Download any tax invoices you need from My Trips (tax invoice).
- Settle any pending payment.
- If you linked Velocity, ask DiDi in the app to unlink it first.
DiDi keeps your information to the extent the law requires, even after deletion.
