DiDi receipts and tax invoices in Australia

DiDi emails a receipt to your registered address after every trip. The receipt, tax invoice and full fare breakdown are also in the app under My Trips.

Your receipt arrives by email

When a trip ends, DiDi sends a receipt automatically to the email address registered on your account. If you cannot find it:

  • check the spam or junk folder,
  • confirm the email address in your profile is right,
  • remember that each email change must be verified through the link DiDi sends before it is linked (account).

Downloading the tax invoice in the app

Your DiDi account keeps a history of every ride. To get the documents:

  1. Open the app menu and select My Trips.
  2. Tap the past trip you need.
  3. View the receipt, the tax invoice and the other trip details.

The trip page also shows the fare breakdown, including any Dynamic Pricing multiplier, tolls, levies, waiting or cancellation fees. See fares for what each line means.

GST on DiDi fares

Every Australian DiDi fare includes GST and other relevant taxes as a fare component. Rideshare drivers in Australia must have an ABN and be registered for GST, which is what allows a GST-compliant tax invoice to be issued on their behalf. DiDi notes it cannot issue a GST-compliant tax invoice for a driver who has not uploaded an ABN, which is why every driver must provide one (driver tax).

Work trips and expense claims

  • DiDi Australia does not offer business accounts, so work rides are booked on a personal account and the tax invoice is passed to your employer or accountant.
  • Download any invoices you need before deleting an account.
  • For your employer's benefit, you can link the business's Virgin Australia Business Flyer account and choose it before each work ride to earn Velocity Points for the business (promo codes).

Whether a particular ride is deductible depends on your situation. The Australian Taxation Office publishes the rules on work-related travel expenses.

Delivery receipts

DiDi Delivery is charged to your payment method once the parcel is delivered, the same way as a ride. The trip appears in My Trips with its fare details (DiDi Delivery).

If the amount looks wrong

A pending amount close to the estimate before a ride is usually an authorisation hold, not the final charge. If the final fare looks wrong, for example a toll charged twice or a fee you dispute, report it through the Help Center with the trip selected (payment, contact support).

Questions and answers

How do I get a tax invoice from DiDi?

Open the app menu, tap My Trips, then select the trip. You can view the receipt, the tax invoice and the other trip details there.

I'm not getting DiDi receipts by email. Why?

DiDi sends the receipt to your registered email when the trip ends, so check your spam or junk folder first. If the address is wrong, update it under your profile and verify the new one.

Does a DiDi fare include GST?

Yes. DiDi lists GST and other relevant taxes as part of every Australian fare, and the fare breakdown shows the amounts.

Can I claim DiDi rides as a business expense?

DiDi provides a tax invoice for each trip that you can give your employer or accountant. Whether a ride is deductible depends on your circumstances; the ATO website explains the rules.
