DiDi Express

Express is the standard DiDi ride: a private car for up to 4 people, priced with the normal base, distance and time fares (fares). Cars on DiDi must have at least 4 doors and meet their state's age and inspection rules (vehicle requirements).

DiDi Max

Max is the larger option for groups or extra luggage. DiDi's own pages differ on capacity: the rider and city pages say up to 5 people, and the main driver page says up to 6. Go by what the app shows when you select Max, and compare its estimate with Express before confirming.

DiDi Select

DiDi lists Select among its Australian ride options. Its public web pages do not spell out what kind of car qualifies or how prices compare, so read the description in the app before choosing it. This guide will add details once DiDi publishes them.

DiDi Travel and Negotiate

DiDi Travel is aimed at long trips, and DiDi says the savings grow with the distance. DiDi also runs a Negotiate feature on Travel, trialled in selected cities: drivers offer a fare starting from a Base Fare set by the app, and you choose the driver by price, arrival time, Star Rating and vehicle type. The agreed fare does not change afterwards. Full details in negotiate.

DiDi Delivery

Delivery sends parcels across your city with a DiDi driver, 24/7, with up to 3 drop-off points per order. It is for goods only; to travel with your item, book Express. Size limits and prohibited items are in DiDi Delivery.

Questions and answers

What is the difference between DiDi Express and Max?

Express is DiDi's everyday ride for up to 4 people. Max is for bigger groups: DiDi's rider pages say up to 5 people, while its driver page says up to 6, so check the seat count shown in the app.

Does DiDi have an XL or 6-seater option?

Max is DiDi's larger-vehicle option in Australia. Drivers' cars can seat up to 6 passengers, but the exact number allowed on a trip is shown in the app when you choose Max.

What is DiDi Select?

Select is listed as one of DiDi's ride options on its Australian home page. DiDi's public pages do not describe its vehicle standard, so check the description and fare in the app where it is offered.

DiDi Travel vs Express: which is cheaper?

It depends on the trip. Travel is pitched as long distance for less and uses driver offers you can accept, while Express uses the app's standard fare. Compare both estimates before confirming.

Can I ride along with my parcel on DiDi Delivery?

No. DiDi Delivery is for goods only. If you want to travel with your item, book DiDi Express instead.
