DiDi driver requirements in Queensland
Queensland drivers need a BHTX Driver Authority, a Booked Hire Service Licence, a yearly Certificate of Inspection, mandatory training, and an E-Tag or signed note for airport pickups.
Who regulates DiDi drivers in Queensland
Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) licenses both sides of a rideshare trip. You hold a Driver Authority, which TMR grants only after a medical examination, a criminal history check and a driving history check. The car holds a Booked Hire Service Licence (BHSL). DiDi checks that both are current and adds its own baseline: smartphone, mobile number and email, the right to work in Australia, an ABN with GST (driver tax) and being listed as an insured driver. The E-Tag rule for airport pickups
DiDi will only send Brisbane Airport pickups to drivers who hold an E-Tag from Linkt, RTA, RMS or Eway Interlink. Upload a photo showing the number on the side of the device. If you have no tag, either sign up for one through DiDi's Linkt link or upload a note, signed and dated, saying you have no E-Tag and accept you cannot collect riders at the airport.
Every Queensland city page carries this step word for word, and on all of them, including Gold Coast and Cairns, the E-Tag rule and the note refer to Brisbane Airport. Expect the E-Tag upload wherever in Queensland you register. All airports also require you to accept their terms in the app (Settings, Legal) and to use the rideshare area; see airport rides.
